Big Brother houseguest Matt Klotz broke new ground on the  CBS show. Matt is the show's first deaf participant. With Big Brother's commitment to equality, the reality show has used advanced technology to make the 25th season fair and accessible for Matt.

Born deaf, Matt has overcome significant obstacles, including setting world records in the Deaflympics.

However, Big Brother's gameplay involving whispers and cues posed a unique challenge.

To address this, the CBS team coordinated with Matt's hearing doctor and audio engineer David Crivelli to ensure the show's sounds and audio cues are accessible to Matt. This involved testing various sound gear, sealing diary room doors to prevent sound leakage, and using a special speaker that delivers sound directly to Matt.

Furthermore, a voice-to-text system has been integrated to provide Matt with real-time transcription during the game.

Nevertheless, Matt's journey hasn't been without controversy.

Fellow contestant Jared Fields has allegedly taken advantage of Matt's disability, leading to potential repercussions outside the Big Brother house.

Despite this, Matt's determination and CBS's commitment to a fair playing field make for a memorable season.
